As Chief Executive Officer at Net Element, Mr. Firer is responsible for the overall vision, strategy and execution of company's mission of powering global commerce. Before taking on his current position, Mr. Firer served as Executive Chairman of Unified Payments and has led the company from its inception until its acquisition by TOT Group in April of 2013. Under his leadership, Unified Payments' revenues grew by 23,646% over 3 year period and the company was ranked as #1 fastest-growing company by Inc. Magazine in 2012. Prior to Unified Payments, Mr. Firer held senior executive positions in private equity, payment processing, wireless communications and technology companies. Mr. Firer was recognized by Forbes as one of the 5 Incredible Enterpreneurs and by Business Leader Magazine as a Top Enterpreneur in South Florida, named by Poder Magazine as one of the Most Influential People in Miami and recognized by Inc. Magazine as the founder of the fastest-growing private company in 2012. Mr. Firer serves as a board member of Net Element, TOT Group's parent company and a member of the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) Mobile Payments, ISO Practices and Risk, Fraud & Security committees. Mr. Firer supports the initiatives of the Firer Family Charitable Foundation, the charitable family fund focused on helping families and children in need.
Mr. New has been Chief Financial Officer of the Company since October 2, 2012. Mr. New was Chief Financial Officer of the Company’s predecessor, Net Element, Inc., from March 10, 2008 until October 2, 2012. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. New was Chief Operating Officer of Ener1, Inc. From 2004 until it was sold in 2006, Mr. New owned and operated Wholesale Salon Furniture Corp.com, which imported and distributed salon equipment. Thereafter, until joining Net Element, Inc., Mr. New provided services to public companies on a variety of corporate accounting, reporting and audit related issues. Prior to joining Ener1, Inc. in 2001, Mr. New held controller and chief financial officer positions with companies including Häagen-Dazs, Virtacon (a web development company), RAI Credit Corporation and Prudential of Florida. Mr. New obtained his BS in Accounting from Florida State University and began his career with Accenture. He is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Steven Wolberg has been Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Net Element since April 16, 2013. Mr. Wolberg served in various capacities with Acies Corporation from approximately January 2009 until December 2012, including as a consultant from approximately January 2009 until October 2009, as a director from October 30, 2009 until December 2012 and as Chief Strategy Officer from March 1, 2010 until December 2012. Mr. Wolberg currently operates a solo law practice in Newton, Massachusetts, Attorney Steven Wolberg, which he has operated since January 1997. Mr. Wolberg served as Chief Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Development for Mascot Networks in Cambridge, Massachusetts from January 2000 to September 2001. Since September 1996, Mr. Wolberg has served as president of Oakland Properties, Inc., a real estate development company. From February 1993 to December 1994, Mr. Wolberg served as an attorney in the real estate and corporate divisions of Brown and Rudnick in Boston, Massachusetts. From March 1988 to November 1991, Mr. Wolberg was a partner with the law firm of Jordaan and Wolberg in Johannesburg, South Africa. From January 1986 to February 1988, Mr. Wolberg was employed as an attorney with Goodman and North in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mr. Wolberg also currently owns and serves as the Managing Member of Prime Portfolios, LLC, which holds a private investment portfolio of payment processing companies. Mr. Wolberg received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, his Bachelors of Laws from the University of Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa, and his Juris Doctorate from the New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Wolberg is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.
Mr. Krotov has been Chief Technology Officer of the Company since March 1, 2014. Mr. Krotov joined the Company’s predecessor, Net Element, Inc., on January 4, 2011 and was senior software developer from January 4, 2011 until June 1, 2011 and Chief of Development Department of Net Element Russia from June 1, 2011 until March 1, 2014. From October 2008 through December 2010, Mr. Krotov was employed with Interactive Tribe GmbH, a software development company, as a senior software engineer responsible for the creation of architecture and software development. From April 2007 until August 2008, Mr. Krotov was employed with Artsofte, a software development company, as a software engineer. Throughout his career, Mr. Krotov was responsible for the creation of proprietary intellectual property portfolios and managed local and outsourced teams of software developers. Mr. Krotov has a master degree from Ural State Technical University by specialty "Calculating machines, complexes, systems and networks".
Mr. Zaripov is General Director of Net Element Russia and Emerging Markets, with direct responsibility for leadership in Commonwealth of Independent States and Emerging Markets. Prior to his current position, Mr. Zaripov was General Director of WebTransfer, where he led the leading electronic wallet and money redemption company with operations in Russia and United Kingdom. Prior to joining WebTransfer, Mr. Zaripov was a Product Manager at Carphone Warehouse, the UK's leading telecommunication company. Prior to Carphone, Mr. Zaripov held executive positions with start-up companies in the distance educations, online trade, MICE and tourism industries. Mr. Zaripov holds a Master of Business Administration from Lancaster University Management School.
Mr. Sadovskiy is President of Merchant Services at TOT Payments, subsidiary of TOT Group, with direct responsibility for company's Merchant Services business, which includes full responsibility for divisional P&L, new sales development, partner implementation, sales integration and client management. Prior to his current position, Mr. Sadovskiy served as President of Wholesale Division at Unified Payments and President of New Edge Payments. Prior to joining Unified Payments, Mr. Sadovskiy co-found Merchant Processing Services Corp ("MPS") and led it as its CEO. During his tenure as CEO of MPS, he achived 4,500% growth taking the company from a startup to 2008 Inc 500 #29 of the fastest growing private companies in America in just under 5 years. Prior to MPS, Mr. Sadovskiy held various sales and operational positions with companies including First Data Merchant Services, Chase Merchant Services, Concord Payment Systems, IBM and NVS Communications. Mr. Sadovsiky is a member of the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) ISO Practices committee. Mr. Sadovskiy attended City University of New York - Baruch College.
Dmitrijus Apockinas joined our team in April 2014 as a President of Global Operations of TOT Group Europe Ltd (United Kingdom) and was appointed as Chief Operations Officer of Net Element, inc. in November 2015. Mr. Apockinas brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, business and management consultancy. During his 11 years career in banking sector, he has served as a top executive, vice-president, CEO and board member of 3 different banks and 2 mutual fund management companies. Prior to joining our team, in 2011-2014 Mr. Apockinas, as a managing partner of the consultancy firm, has accumulated vast knowledge of alternative payment systems, micro-finance and IT technologies sectors. Mr. Apockinas obtained his BS in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Modern Business in Moscow, Russia and was awarded an MBA degree from the University of Warwick, Coventry, United Kingdom.
Suresh Menon, a 25-year senior financial services executive with a focus on payment systems, cards and process automation technology has joined our team in March 2015. Mr. Menon has significant experience in different executive leadership roles including as CEO of a leading UAE-based corporation and as a founder of startup Ubiqu Group that focuses on delivering efficiencies in the payments sector. Mr. Menon has been instrumental in introducing numerous important payment technology solutions to UAE and the GCC States region, including Dubai's first Automated Fine Payment solution for Dubai Police, UAE's first cash deposit machine and project design of Wage Protection System in collaboration with Emirates ID Authority for both locals and expatriates. Mr. Menon has introduced to the region solutions in retail management, government payments, government authority fees, credit bureau services, RTA and DOT Services.
Marat Abasaliev has been Chief Executive Officer of IPSP PayOnline since September 12, 2009. He has more than 15 years of experience in the IT business segment; deep knowledge and expertise in project management and software development. He founded IPSP PayOnline, which has become one of the largest independent payment service of the Russian Internet zone less than in two years. To this day, Mr. Abasaliev is engaged in the development of the company. He provides general management of the company and is responsible for the strategic goals. Mr. Abasaliev has extensive knowledge and competencies in the field of project management and software development. Before founding PayOnline, he worked as the Director of Internet portal TransAgency.Ru, managed the IT department at CareerLab, was the Director of the ITONLINE GROUP Processing Center. Mr. Abasaliev has a master of engineering degree, also he is graduated Executive-MBA at Skolkovo Business School.
