Net Element was initially formed in 2004 as Splinex Technology, Inc., a spin-off from a subsidiary of Ener1, Inc. Splinex Technology initially focused on cutting-edge 3D technology advances for the computer graphics industry.

On October 13, 2010, the company re-branded itself as Net Element, Inc. to better reflect its core direction of developing or acquiring technology and applications for use in the online media industry.

Net Element is currently focused exclusively on the business of curating high-quality online video content, and developing or acquiring other Internet properties and companies with similar goals of connecting people in various vertical markets, including music, sports, healthcare, and law.

As it expands, Net Element aims to position itself as an industry leader that is redefining how people, and businesses, experience the Web.
